Abby Newman Wallach
Director of Youth Education and Programming
Born in Framingham, MA, Abby Newman Wallach grew up in a suburb of Orlando, FL. She was involved at her synagogue, participated in USY, and spent a year on Nativ. She spent seven summers as a staff member at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack and was a counselor at Ramah Israel Seminar. Abby graduated from the University of Florida with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Judaic Studies and then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. While in college, Abby began teaching in a local religious school and has continued teaching in a variety of settings for the last 10 years.
After graduation, Abby moved to New York City to begin her career in education, where she enjoyed teaching in Jewish Day Schools for five years. She has a passion for instilling a love of Jewish identity and tradition, as well as sharing ways to connect to Judaism through holidays, song, art, Torah stories, Hebrew, and Israel.
In her spare time, Abby enjoys traveling, baking, crafting, and hiking. She is excited to be a part of the Temple Israel community!
