Celebrate Community with Kiddush

Kiddush is a cherished tradition at Temple Israel, offering a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow congregants while enjoying delicious food. Held after Shabbat morning services, it’s one of the highlights of our community life, bringing people together to share stories, laughter, and friendship. Kiddush helps foster the connections that make Temple Israel a vibrant, welcoming community.

Sponsor a Kiddush

By sponsoring a Kiddush, you contribute to strengthening our sense of community. Sponsorships can honor a loved one, celebrate a simcha, memorialize someone, or even highlight a shared interest (e.g., Inclusion Shabbat, Graduation, Camp Shabbat, Pride Shabbat, or Birthday Month Shabbat).

To sponsor a Kiddush:
  • Fill out the Kiddush Request Form. A member of our office staff will reach out to you to discuss details.
  • Karen will connect you with our kitchen manager to discuss menu options and with Ana Marusich to arrange payment.
  • If you are unable to financially support a Kiddush, you are welcome to donate to the Kiddush Fund in honor of the occasion or in memory of a loved one. This immensely helps to maintain the kiddush fund and supports kiddushim that are not fully sponsored. These donations will be acknowledged in the Luach, Shabbat announcements and Shabbat Email.  Alternatively, we encourage you to team up with another community member that also wants to sponsor a kiddush to cover the cost of kiddush.
Flexible Support Options
  • Collaborative Sponsorship: Team up with another member to co-sponsor a Kiddush.
  • Kiddush Fund Donations: If sponsoring isn’t feasible, consider contributing to the Kiddush Fund in honor or memory of someone. These donations ensure that unsponsored Kiddushes can still be provided. Contributions will be acknowledged in the Luach, Shabbat announcements, and Shabbat email.

Thank you for helping make Kiddush a meaningful and enduring part of Temple Israel’s community life. For questions or to begin planning your sponsorship, please reach out to Karen Nahary.
